Thanks for dropping in
and checking out my little corner of cyberspace. Back before there was MySpace, people actually shared info about themselves with family and friends by building their own web sites - not providing the fodder needed to drive a major corporation's advertising engine.
As your host, please let me introduce myself. I'm Bill Mills, That picture on the right is my wife Dawn and I sitting on top of our Jeep at the Palm Beach Marina. Just another clue as to how rarely I update this page anymore - we painted the Jeep red and put a black hard-top on it in 1999, found it a new owner in 2006.. We took the picture with the High 5 Web Cam (a web controlled camera that used to be on top of the Palm Beach NBC affiliate's building) and a CDPD wireless modem hooked into our laptop compter in 1998 when that sort of thing was crazy high-tech, not the commonplace kind of thing you can do with your garden variety mobile phone today. This page started as a place for me to goof-off and experiment with HTML and PERL in the early 90s. Back in 1994, those 3-D icons down below with drop shadows were pretty cutting edge for the World Wide Web. I used to make one change or another a couple of times a week, but that was a long time ago. I am also a part of the design team at PadStar Publishing, helping produce the AppTutor line of educational IOS Apps to teach grade school level math subjects to children. It's pretty exciting, in that compared to most apps that only quiz, AppTutor actually teaches the subject, has games/quizes to reinforce the subject, then a test to confirm that it's been learned. Even better they're all built, teaching their subjects to the new Common Core State Standards that are expected to be adopted by every state school system by 2014. Don't expect it to be anything current about my life - it's mostly still around just for nostalgia's sake, and a place for me to throw up the odd photo I want to share with someone.
This page page looks pretty much as it was after it was redesigned around 1995 or 1996 - if you like that old web nostalgia, it originally looked like this.
For now, slip your feet up on the desk, lean back, and cruise around. If you have any questions, or comments, please feel free to drop me some e-mail with the handy Bill's World Feedback Form.

PaintballDawn received our Open Water diver certifications in 1999. It's
the thing to do in Florida - and the water is so much warmer, and there
is so much more to see than in California.
