The tale of the "Biz Boys"..... It was a dark and stormy night, ^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H Nah too corny, It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, ^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^ $#% That one was good, but it's already taken. Well, some years back, myself (Bill Mills), Dawn Mills (then Dawn Lindsey), Brad Heuseveldt, Jeff Ruch, Cristin Pescosolido, and a host of other folks used to play paintball at least once a month or so with the Instigators. We cruised up and down the San Joaquin valley meeting various local teams and playing on private fields. Some time in the late 80s most of the Instigators went separate ways, but the folks that I brought into the team and the sport stayed together. One summer, while going to the Adventure Game of America field in Fresno (this is the field where I first played, it used to be owned by Matt Brown of TASO), we decided it was time to come up with a new team name since we weren't all of the Instigators. Playing with us for the first time was Paul Walton, a hooligan from Hitchin (a town outside of London), and of course Cristin, who was home for the summer from Harvard (in Boston of course). I thought the London, Boston, Fresno tie in was cool, but we still needed a name. One of Paul's favorite expressions was "That's the biz!" A British slang meaning that something was cool. Several members of the team were card carrying SubGeniuses, so of course that led to Bob's name in the title, and his place in the logo. So we had the name. That fall Cristin e-mailed the logo to me, and the rest is history. So if you're ever at a paintball field and see a bunch of people flying a US, British, and "Biz Boys" flag, you know you've found us. Come on over and say hi.
