Plugins
Ever looked “under the hood” of a Tricaster or VT[5]? They make extensive use of the ToasterScript scripting language and skin files for their user interface, opening up a lot of latitude for customization. Even better, they are programmed to load and make use of user scripts and skins.
CMS DVMon
This alternative capture interface for Speed Edit allows DV video to be monitored at full resolution while it is being captured, allowing for better image/setup feedback when recording direct to hard drive via firewire. CMS DVMon is shareware, and may be downloaded here.

Need a hotkey? Just ask!
Sequences of functions in VT[5] and Tricaster can be performed as hotkey macros, reducing keyboard complexity and more importantly reducing the risk of user error. As a prime example, at Grace Bible Church, one of our macros uses a single key to select the iVGA source on the preview bus, select a fly-in transition, then fly it in. Pressing the button again, flies it back out. Give us a call to find out if we can automate you into easier switching.
